Smothered Pork Chops

pork chop, like other meat chops, is a loin cut taken perpendicular to the spine of the pig and is usually a rib or part of a vertebra. Pork chops are unprocessed and leaner than other cuts.

People commonly serve chops as individual portions and can accompany them with applesauce, vegetables, and other sides.

People around the world commonly consume pork as one of the most popular meats.

In the United States, people most commonly consume pork chops, which come from the pork loin, and they account for 10% of total pork consumption.

Ingredients

1 onion

3 tablespoons flour

2 cups chicken broth

1/4 cup buttermilk

3 tablespoons hot sauce

Seasoning For Chops

1 cup flour

1/8 sea salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons onion powder

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

To make these smothered pork chops, start by mixing all the spices in a small bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of the spice mixture to the flour. Dredge the pork chops in the flour, and fry them in hot oil for about 15 minutes. Turn them every two minutes so they can cook evenly. Remove the pork chops, and reserve. Saute the onion in 2 tablespoons of butter. Add 3 tablespoons of flour and stir using a wire whisk. Add 2 cups of chicken broth, and boil while constantly whisking. Turn to low and let thicken. Add the buttermilk and hot sauce and blend until smooth. Add the chops back to the pan with the sauce and simmer for 15 minutes. Enjoy!
