By the 1970s casseroles took on a less-than-sophisticated image.

2 cups cooked noodles

1 stick of margarine

1 can cream of chicken soup

1/2 cup milk

2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

2 cups American cheese, cubed

1 box stuffing mix, chicken flavor

Directions

To create this chicken casserole recipe, begin by neatly layering the broccoli, noodles, chicken, and mushrooms in a baking dish. Additionally, you may sprinkle some herbs or spices for added flavor.

In a saucepan, combine the margarine, soup, milk, and cheese. Heat to a boil. Pour over layers in casserole. Spread stuffing mix over top. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, then uncovered for an additional 25 minutes or until bubbling hot. Enjoy!
