Pork Chops recipe

make these pork chops with a side of noodles or rice

pork chop, like other meat chops, is a loin cut taken perpendicular to the spine of the pig and is usually a rib or part of a vertebra. Pork chops are unprocessed and leaner than other cuts. Chops are commonly served as an individual portion and can be accompanied by applesauce, vegetables, and other sides. Pork is one of the most commonly consumed meats in the world. In the United States, pork chops are the most commonly consumed meat cut from the pork loin and account for 10% of total pork consumption.

Ingredients

4 pork chops

1 clove garlic, minced

2 teaspoons oil

4 tablespoons dry sherry or any broth

4 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or sauce

2 teaspoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Directions

To make these Pork Chops start by browning them on both sides in an oiled skillet, about five minutes. Remove the chops and set aside. In the same skillet, saute the garlic on low heat for 1 minute. In a bowl, combine the oil, broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper. Return the chops to the skillet. Pour the sauce over the chops. Cover and simmer for about 35 minutes. Adding water if needed to keep them simmering and not drying out. Remove the chops to a platter. Add in the cornstarch, stirring it until thickened. Pour over the chops. Enjoy!
