Pizza Casserole recipe

You can double this recipe to accommodate a large crowd.

American-style casserole

In the United States, a casserole or hot dish is typically a baked food with three main components: pieces of meat (such as chicken or ground meat) fish (such as tuna) or other protein (such as beans or tofu), various chopped or canned vegetables (such as green beans or peas), and a starchy binder (such as flour, potato, rice or pasta); sometimes, there is also a crunchy or cheesy topping. Liquids are released from the meat and vegetables during cooking, and further liquid in the form of stock, wine, beer, gin, cider, vegetable juice, or even water may be added when the dish is assembled. Casseroles are typically simmered in the oven, frequently without a cover. Furthermore, they can be served both as a main course or side dish, and conveniently, they can be served in the same vessel they were cooked in.

Ingredients

1 pound spaghetti, cooked, more if needed

4 small jars of sauce, any combination of pizza, spaghetti, or marinara sauces

1 pound pepperoni, sliced, more if needed

3 cups onion, chopped or sliced

4 cans mushrooms

2 cups bell pepper, diced

1 pound mozzarella cheese, shredded

one pound of Colby cheese, shredded

1 pound of other favorite cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Directions

To make pizza casserole, start by sauteing the onions and peppers in butter until soft, about 5 minutes. Spray your casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray, for instance, Pam cooking spray. Layer the ingredients in the same manner as you would with a traditional lasagna, as a result, layer the spaghetti, sauce, pepperoni, vegetables, and cheese. Additionally, continue layering until you have used all the ingredients. Cover with foil so it does not dry out and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Enjoy!!
