Spinach Culinary Use And Nutrition
Spinach is eaten raw, in salads, and cooked in soups, curries, or casseroles. Dishes with spinach as a main ingredient include spinach salad, spinach soup, spinach dip, saag paneer, pkhali, ispanakhi matsvnit, and spanakopita.
In classical French cuisine, a spinach-based dish may be described as à la Florentine.
I have made these a few times for party appetizers, they are super easy to make and everyone says they are delicious
Ingredients
1 8-ounce can of crescent dinner rolls
6 tablespoons garlic herb spreadable cheese
6 slices cooked deli ham
30 fresh spinach leaves
Directions
To make these Cheesy Spinach Pinwheels, heat the oven to 350 degrees. Separate the dough into 4 rectangles; press the perforations to seal.
Spread the rectangles with the cheese the spread to within 1/4 inch of the edges; top with the ham and the spinach. Roll up each rectangle, starting at the shortest side; press the edges to seal. Cut each roll into 6 slices.
Place, cut sides down, on an ungreased cookie sheet. One that worked well with this recipe is the Pampered Chef rectangular stone 12″ x 15″. Bake for 12 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
